Title Tomes for sale
I'm sure Title Tomes have already been suggested, but this may be a new twist, which "sweetens the pot" for ANet.
First, a "Title Tome" is like a skill Tome. While a skill tome allows a character to learn a skill that is already unlocked on the account, a Title tome would allow a character to gain a title that a different character has already earned.
Clearly, this would only be for titles that are not "account based." So, for example, I have one character with Survivor and a different character with Legendary Defender of Ascalon. However, I chose a third character to work on God Walking Among Mere Mortals. I am currently stalled out at 28 titles and am grinding out two LOOOONG titles to try to finish GWAMM. It would be GREAT to get two title tomes and finish GWAMM. I've already done the work, just on different characters.
But here's the benefit for ANet...rather than make these random drops from killing foes, make them available through the store as a micro-transaction, and make them untradable. That way, people cannot "sell" them.
I think $10 per tome would be about right, though I personally might pay as much as $20 each.

You hear people complaining about "money titles," where they just buy each title (sweet, party, drunkard, wisdom, zaishen, etc), and you want to make it possible for "real money titles."
No, sorry.

mmmmm, very tempting. I would prolly pay for one or two to get survivor on my war who was around before titles existed, but it would be unfair for people who actually had to grind out to GWAMM before being able to get something like this.
like it, but /notsigned because it just isn't fair

easy to say something that easy is hard if you don't want to put forth the effort to farm, or trade to buy the titles, but they really aren't difficult to get. maybe GW should get a welfare system so the lazy can haz money too.

As it is, the titles you refer to are "real money titles" anyway, since most people seem to be buying GW gold from the Korean gold farm internet sites. This way, maybe ANet can cut down on some of that, and get a bit of money for themselves.

If I'm going to spend more real money on the game, I'd spend it on costumes or something that doesn't inflate one's title via one's pocketbook.

Wait, you want the XTH back?
Title tomes /notsigned
Really, selling titles in the online store for cash is just fail, titles are meant to be something of an achievement... remembering your credit card details isn't any sort of achievement worth celebrating...

If you're using a chance to put Survivor and LDoA on the same character as an example, you probably haven't been paying attention to Riverside lately. Long story short, ANet has no intention of allowing characters to hold both of those titles, and they likely won't be implementing any system to do so. Ever.

No. Purchasing title progress with real life money is not something I want to see happen, and isn't something that I feel is going to be healthy for the game. I'll chance it and say that ANet would rather have you all grinding and playing the game for years than let you buy up your progress and see you leave after a matter of months.

/signed on the condition that it ONLY applies to titles which provide mechanical benefits, such as Asura or Lightbringer. Any "bling" titles should have to be earned the old fashioned way.
In fact, for such mechanically based titles I wouldn't even require another character on the account to have achieved them.

The problem with drunkard isn't getting the ale. It's sitting on one's rear drinking it, all the while thinking "Why shouldn't I bot this?"

He's right, just look at all the people with god walking. I've got a few stacks lying around, but it sure ain't from farming trolls back in the day which is IIRC the only farming i've ever done in my time on gdubs, don't assume.

I want GW welfare now....
OT: Go buy the costumes and dance around like a fairy. We don't need to be given more items to buy through the store.

Ohh yess then you can get 12x GWAMM!
/notsigned. This would really destroy the "GWAMM" title. Then you can have it 12 times for 30 titles you maxed. So not an great idea imo.
And you dont even need Survivor or LDoA to reach GWAMM, so why bother if you dont have those titles?

Titles are tainted enough and meaningless enough as they are. You're making them even more meaningless with this idea.

Probably the worst idea i ever saw anywhere. Seriously. You are joking right?
If you arnt you should go back to playing with your teddy bear or something.
Titles are so easy already its lame as it is and you want to make it buyable?
You can get gwamm in a matter of months.
And no you dont need to be rich to get gwamm.
Most i ever had at a time was 500kish lol :P
But usualy more like 50k unless if im savign for something ^^
PS: i dont have survivor or ldoa on my war either :P
PPS: The money needed for drunkard, sweet and party can be obtained in a few weeks of relaxed farming :P
